March Malady

I am beginning to think that I am a weekly blogger. I can't seem to remember my little blog waiting for me, lonely, neglected.
I can't find my niche.

I am deciding to blog when I can, relax, and wait. Just now the inspiration will flow.

My Project Life albums have become victim of the same virus. Is it a March malady?

I haven't found the cure yet.

This week I have been regaining my strength after a bout with the flu. I have completed a couple of books and read 3 new ones. Today I jumped in the pickup with Hubby. He is headed to get parts and I am excited about seeing my girls. This is quite a leap for me as yesterday was my first day out of the house in a week. There s only so much reading a gal can do.
Did I just say that?

Okay, March what have you done with me?

Winter Flip-Flops

I was so excited to post these pictures that I took last Thursday night, only to have the stomach flu take me out for a few days. Better late than never.

I had my prayer group over and we had a joyous time. As Vicki was leaving the house I noticed her flip-flops in contrast to the snowbank still melting beside the house.

"Hold it! I yelled and ran for my camera.

This is March in northern Maine and we DON'T have the weather we had last week at this time of year. People were out during the day in shorts running around with  piles of snow as a backdrop!

Loved a bit of spring in the middle of winter :)

In a Perfect World

Is there anything more frustrating than working on income taxes with your husband?

Okay, maybe a visit to the dentist or waiting in line at Walmart or...

Oops, remember Eucharisteo? Thankfulness. Gratitude. My 2011 posts often turned to eucharisteo.

I dug out last year's journals and was in the the middle of reading them when Hubby came in. I knew it was time to dig in and coordinate our files for income tax time.

In a perfect world, I would have spent this afternoon calling my daughter to chat, reading, writing, and dreaming.
In my world, thank you Father for our income, my hubby's health and excellent work ethic, the sunshine and spring in March. Ahhh, yes, I remember how this works now....

Marden's Mystique

Mardens is a store unique to Maine. It is a Department store/ Flea market, sort of.

I have never been a fan of Mardens because of the dusty, sometimes musty atmosphere. Yet I must admit that my home contains several treasures purchased there.

My kitchen table and chairs, my china closet, the flooring in the guest room, and its very comfortable mattress originated in Mardens.

Prior to Christmas, I was a regular to their fabric department.

I must make mention that each Mardens store is unique in itself. I know of one that I would not choose to visit again.

Why am I even mentioning this store? Because on Saturday past, I ran into Mardens because a friend told me they had chocolate Treasures for a small price. As I went through the checkout, a book caught my eye. $3.99 and intriguing description.

I have only a couple of chapters left to read and would have finished it had I not taken a break to blog.

Still not my favorite place, but I love it when I find a hidden treasure amidst the mess.

Niches and Nooks

After a week long visit, my friend Pam left today. I miss her.

We had a blast on Pinterest. Just look at the picture above. Wouldn't you like to go through those nooks?

Now we begin a new week. I have a desk full of work awaiting me and laundry piles screaming so I went in on my bed and picked up the book that I was reading last weekend. Seemed like a good plan for Sunday afternoon. Nevertheless, I couldn't reconnect with the characters after much time away, so back to the hunt for a captivating read.

Sorry to be still rambling on my blog trying to find my niche.

Sunday Afternoon Reading Time

I finished the novel I was reading early this mornings and a non-fiction book I'd been working my way through a few days ago.
It's Sunday afternoon. I'm weary but not enough for a nap. I'd love to watch a movie but my hubby is snoozing in his chair. Not wanting to disturb him, I visit my bookshelves. I grab four books and carry them to my chair, where I proceed to read the first few pages of each.
By now, you know what I have chosen. Having already read 72 pages, I am sufficiently intrigued.
A couple of years ago I created a 100 page rule for myself after spending too much time reading books I disliked but felt I had to finish. There are too many good reads out there to waste my time on anything less. Thus I have to be thoroughly interested in a book by the 100th page or at least convinced that it holds a bit of wisdom or hidden treasure for me.
I took a break to blog, then only half my email made it from my iPad to my blog so here I am trying again.
I am covered with my Nate Berkus chocolate brown afghan in my cozy chair ready to return to London and see what Phoebe Swift is up to. Here's hoping this edit does the trick.

Dear Blog

Source: tumblr.com via Tricia on Pinterest

Dear Blog,

I thought about you every day this week.
Those thoughts came each evening about 9:00 p.m. and by then I was too tired to write my name. Actually two nights I was in bed by 8:30.

It must be Maine March Mania.

I am proud of myself for staying on target with my trainer two days a week this winter, but I need more. Three pairs of jeans lie on my kitchen table ready for giveaway. I know it's a good thing for me to gain weight, but not all in one section of my body :(

Project Life photos nag me each time I walk by my art table. One hour was all I could manage this week.

I worked on my income tax, caught up with office work and laundry, readied the upstairs  for company next week, got a haircut (tho I hate it) and had a great lunch date with a friend. Three late afternoons, another friend and I had prayer together on the phone.

Speaking of prayer, I am sooo grateful for answers to several this week!

I managed to make nice suppers all but one night when we grabbed a salad up to the store.

And I loved a couple of mornings spent with the Lord.

I've been doing a lot of thinking about where I want to go next. One thought sticks with me as this week comes to a close:

The secret of your future ( success) is hidden in your daily routine.

Is that a Dr. Philism?

So sweet Blog and readers, you can see that I am not quitting on you. Just doing life and regrouping.

Do I Give Up Blogging?

Do I want to give up blogging?

Every once in awhile I ask myself this question and this is one of those times.

We are traveling once again, so I am playing magazine catchup. An article in Artful Blogging encourages bloggers to be focused and real. Focus may be the problem.
I find myself caught up in life's everyday demands with little energy leftover these days.

Sharpening or redirecting one's focus takes time. Bear with me.

I believe the answer to my question is no, I don't want to give up blogging. I simply need to get my bearings and figure out where I want to go from here.
