Nostalgia and heritage convinced me that I could use these to sew, so I took my grandmother's to be tuned up. But alas, I got it home only to discover that the bobbin winder doesn't work.
Today I sat down to sew with the other machine. After 3 hours of thread-breaking frustration, I called it quits. None of the ordinary fixes would help.
Maybe it's time to put away the old and move into the new.
