6 Word Memoir

A few days ago, my daughter posted her thoughts on a six-word memoir.
http://alteredbyamber.blogspot.com/2011/04/6-word-memoir.html

I have a suitcase full of short writings I've done. If I knew how to gather them, I might have material for a memoir. But 6 words? I find that a challenge. Here goes.

Search for significance, enjoy the moment.

Rest of soul, ever a struggle.

Be real and loved, Velveteen Rabbit.

Generational chains broken, her family free.

My life canvas painted with Grace.

What about you? Feel free to leave a link or share in comments.

Baby Steps

Reading over my journal from the past four months.
Here are my words for this year:

Disencumber
Eucharisteo ( giving of thanks)
Return to Me
Silence is praise
Internalize Grace

Hit the Thanks Key

"Receive life with thanks, and ask for nothing to change."
Ann VosKamp

Can I do this?
Can I receive life with thanksgiving, asking for nothing to change?

"My soul doth magnify the Lord." Mary declared in Luke 1 in the midst of a huge life transition.
Magnify the Lord in thanksgiving daily.

To my soul, this seems as impossible as removing sugar from my diet, which I have been pondering of late.

Sugar permeates nearly everything - our food, our culture, my cravings.
Asking permeates everything - my thinking, my speaking, my autopilot.

I don't know if it's possible.
I glance above the verses I had been reading in Luke.

"Nothing is impossible with God."

Is this my one thing to do?
Is this my key?

Beauty for Ashes

"Show me my heart, Lord." I prayed a few days ago.

A heart encumbered.

Laden with ashes left behind from the fires of disappointment, self, woundings...

Beauty for ashes whispers in my spirit.

What do I do, Lord? What is the one thing I do, like Anne's eucharisteo?

Show me the key to turning ashes into beauty.

Yadas

If you have read the Yada Yada Prayer Group series, you will be familiar with the name.

A few years ago, this was my core group of ladies who first did "Believing God" and were bound together by what happened during that time. A bit later, we passed around the Yada books and those gals' stories sounded so much like what was happening with us that the name stuck .

We don't meet often now, but we stay connected via internet prayer.
Knowing summer would find many of away or busy with family, we knew it was time.
Yesterday we each lay aside our plans and came together for 3 hours of laughter, tears, prayers and sharing. It was pure joy!

Thanks to my hubby who took a break from work to run home and take the photo. God Job :)

Happy Spring

Sunday morning journal Entry:

Spring is here!
The birds are singing.
A beautiful Sunday morning. Hope is in the air.

"Embraced in Light" Psalm 56 The Voice of Psalms

A smile on my face.
Peace.
I hope this is a sign of good things to come

Working around the house yesterday, listening to messages.
They echo each other.

God delights in spending time with me.

Good morning, Lord. Happy Spring!
